This
is the sixth in a series of lunch & learn seminars, see
the sidebar for information on the other topics.
AVO analysis has become a
multi-disciplinary application after being used for over
two decades in seismic exploration. AVO analysis
is used to identify hydrocarbon and discriminate
lithology. To fulfill this, rock physics, petrophysics,
well logging, geology and seismic are integrated into
most AVO analysis projects.
Rock physics and
petrophysics are related to reservoir geology and
determine the AVO response of seismic. Because of this,
the first thing that is usually done in most AVO
projects is a rock physics study. In this
45-minute presentation, we will introduce the basis of
rock physics and petrophysics for AVO analysis and show
how we link rock physics with AVO by using sophisticated
rock property modeling and AVO modeling.
To learn more, attend the
lunch & learn session on April 22nd or 24th.
